Karen Jones Delk, who writes as Kate Kingsley for Harlequin Historicals, is author of six historical romances. Her latest novel, The Scout's Bride, will be released by Harlequin in February, 1997. She also writes under her own name for Harper monogram.

Brought up in south Louisiana, Delk now lives on the Northern California coast with her actor husband. She is the vice-president and partner in a broadcast consulting firm. She is a member of the Women's National Book Association, the Author's Guild, Romance Writers of America and the Published Authors Network. Currently she is at work on two new historical novels and a more contemporary story set during the offshore oil boom of the 1960's.

Now that her daughter is grown, Delk spends her free time doing volunteer work, reading and traveling. A lifelong member of the Civil War Roundtable Associates, she is an avid student of the Late Unpleasantness. She is also the proud cousin of Charles G. Jones, Webmaster, who tries to teach her about computers and all things Internet.
